Cindy Planck

Obituary of Cindy Lou Planck

Boonville- Cindy Lou Planck, 63, of Thayer Hill Road, wife of the late Terry, an employee of Otis Technology of Lyons Falls, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 6th, 2022, in her home with her beloved pet cat, Gertie, by her side. Cindy was born in Lowville, on October 16th 1958, a daughter of David C. and Nancy Peters Cavanaugh. She grew up on the Cavanaugh family homestead farm on Route 12D, Boonville, and attended Adirondack Elementary School, graduating from Adirondack High School, Boonville, with the Class of 1976. On December 2, 1978, Cindy was united in marriage with Terry A. Planck, at St. Mary's Church, West Leyden. In 1986, the couple constructed their present home on Thayer Hill Road, Boonville. This was a blessed and loving union that was endured together for 33 years but was cut short with the sudden passing of Terry. Cindy spent her remaining ten years heartbroken without Terry and tried her best to fill as much void as she could by caring for her kids, grandchildren, pet cats (Gertie, Sadie, Tommy, Lindsay and plenty other barn kitties) and pet rabbits (Henry & Scooter). Growing up Cindy worked on her parents’ farm and was the eldest of the 5 siblings. She was also very helpful in her childhood years to her youngest sisters. After graduating and uniting with Terry she began babysitting for many years. She then went back to working on the farm once her son, Dan, took it over in 2001. Months after Terry’s passing she went to work for the Otis Technology team, starting in 2012, and worked until the present time which was just shy of 10 years. Cindy made a lot of great friends at Otis and loved talking about how much fun she had there. Co-workers would describe Cindy as a very sweet, honest and helpful person that always had a smile on her face. Cindy, also proud to be known as Granny, will be remembered for her kind heart, courageous strength, hardworking attitude and friendly personality. She was always there for you no matter what. Her family and pets were her whole world, she loved them endlessly. She was very proud of her family and often lit up when sharing stories about them. Cindy was someone who was not afraid to introduce herself and show that she genuinely cared; she often made a lasting impression. She made the best chocolate chip cookies and often had grandchildren at her side eager to help. No one ever went hungry when they visited her. You likely had a full plate of food and a half gallon of chocolate milk in front of you. She was always up for a good laugh, a game of pitch, and a B.V. and diet coke with some chips and dip. She loved her pets and made sure they all lived the best life that they could. She always looked forward to snuggling with her pets at the days end. Cindy greatly loved and cherished each and every one in her family. Cindy is survived by three sons: Dan T. and his wife, Michelle, Boonville, Eric J. and his wife, Mallory, Constableville, and Lee D. and his wife, Jennifer, Constableville; her mother, Nancy, Boonville; nine beloved grandchildren: Tracy, D. Hunter, Wyatt, Gracie Mae, Donny, Tera, L.T. (Little Terry), Mason and Calia; one brother: David (Lindsay) Cavanaugh, Boonville, two sisters: Cathy Austin (Wayne Slye), Boonville, and Lisa Cavanaugh (Jay Flansburg) Boonville. She was predeceased by her husband Terry A. Planck on December 27, 2011, by her father David C. Cavanaugh on September 8th, 1985, and by her sister Tracy L. Spann on December 16th, 1994. Her Funeral will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Constableville, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 12 Noon at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville, NY.
