Obituary of Patricia A. Weiler

Boonville- Patricia A. (Woolschlager) Weiler, 64, affectionately known as “Pat” passed away peacefully at her residence, while surrounded by the loving care of her family on Saturday, October 10, 2020, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Pat was born in Lowville, on December 12, 1955, a daughter of Theodore Paul and Jean L. (Jackson) Woolschlager. She grew up in Boonville, graduating from Adirondack Central School, with the Class of 1974. Thereafter Pat furthered her education at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. She married Bruce A. Weiler, later the couple was divorced. Patricia was first employed as an accountant for Hunt & Hunt CPA of Lowville, before changing her employment with Hospital Plan, Inc. of Utica, which through a series of name changes and mergers became Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Patricia had a thirty six year career with companies which became Excellus BC / BS, working in the offices at Rochester, Syracuse and Utica. She retired in the fall of 2019, as director of claims and underwriting. During her long employment for BC / BS, Pat always enjoyed working with many wonderful co-workers who were more like family. Patricia is survived by one son and daughter in law, Adrian and Amy (Carter) Weiler, Boonville and her beloved grandchildren, Emma and Olivia Kittleman and Robert and Mia Weiler; her father, Theodore Paul Woolschlager, Boonville; one brother and sister in law, Gary and Donna Woolschlager, Cicero; one sister and brother in law, Beverly and Michael Napierkowski, Boonville and nieces and their husbands and children: Angela and Mike Cihocki and their son, Luke and Jessica and Richard Sommers and their son, John. She was predeceased by her mother, Jean Woolschlager, on March 18, 2019. Also surviving are a host of friends scattered all across the country. Pat was a very active person who loved her family and enjoyed the pursuit of many hobbies; creating an elaborate Halloween Display each year which the children of the community greatly enjoyed, gardening, hiking, horseback riding, sewing, cooking and crafts. Pat also greatly enjoyed traveling and visiting new places; all together over her lifetime she had visited 48 states as well as traveling in Europe. Her Funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where social distancing, facial coverings and contact tracing will be observed. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery.
