Obituary of Peter M. Hance

Boonville – Peter M. Hance, 62, of East Schuyler St., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Peter was born in Herkimer on August 1, 1958 a son of James and Marion VanDenburg Hance. Shortly thereafter his family moved to the Boonville area, where Peter has since lived. He graduated from Adirondack Central School with the Class of 1976. Following his education he entered the construction trade as a carpenter for Carpenters Union Local 120, Rome, NY, working in building construction all over central New York. Peter enjoyed the sport of golf, playing locally at Woodgate Pines, Boonville, and Bear Creek Lodge, Forestport. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and also the Boonville V.F.W.. Peter is survived by his three sons: Troy, Boonville, Ryan, Rome, and Adam (Shannon Schuler), Boonville; his grandchildren: Dakota, Gabriella, and Delaney; his siblings: James (Carolyn) Boonville, Margaret Hance (Ken), Knifley, KY, Lorraine (Darrell) Luebbert, Boonville, Paul, Boonville, Patricia Hance, San Antonio, TX, Barbara Krug (Tony), Lexington, KY, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Philip “Pup” Leffingwell, Boonville. He was predeceased by an infant son Bradley in 1978, his parents, and a nephew Bryan Egnaczyk and a niece, Carrie. Graveside services will be held in Port Leyden Cemetery, Port Leyden on Saturday, September 5, at 10:30 am. Calling Hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. All attendees must adhere to the current social distance and facial covering guidelines. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box #1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.
