Obituary of Becky J. Murphy

Carthage- Becky J. Fitzgerald Murphy, 53, formerly of Lowville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 22, 2020. Becky was born in Lowville, on December 24, 1966, a daughter of Kenneth and Betty Galarneau Fitzgerald. She grew up on Shibley Road, Town of Lyonsdale, receiving her education at Port Leyden Elementary School before graduating from South Lewis Senior High School. Thereafter she attended and graduated from Jefferson County Community College, Watertown. For several years Becky was employed as a laboratory technician in Watertown. On August 9, 1986, she married Randy Murphy and for several years the couple resided in Adams Center. Together they had a daughter, McKenzie Murphy. The marriage later ended in divorce. Becky was an artist who loved painting and drawing. She found much joy from her many canine friends. She is survived by one daughter, McKenzie Murphy, and McKenzie’s father, Randy Murphy, Adams Center; a brother and sister in law, David and Debbie Fitzgerald, Lyons Falls a sister, Darlene Eckerson and her life mate, Niles Lehman, Croghan, a brother, Nathan Fitzgerald and Jane Buysse, Keene, NY and a sister and brother in law, Katie and Jeremey Hill, Glenfield and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Fitzgerald, July, 1966, her father, Kenneth, March, 2004 and her mother, Betty Fitzgerald, July, 2014. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 11:00 A.M. until 12 Noon.
