Port Leyden �" Margaret Rocker, 94, of James Street, widow of Alfred Rocker, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006, at the Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville, where she had resided since October 2003. Margaret was born July 30, 1911 in Lyonsdale, a daughter of Michael and Sara Tuffy Beck. She graduated from Lyons Falls High School with the Class of 1930, and was a lifelong area resident. In 1933 she was united in marriage with Alfred Rocker at St. Martin�(TM)s Rectory, Port Leyden. Mr. Rocker died September 4, 1987. Mrs. Rocker was a member of St. Martin�(TM)s Church, Port Leyden, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by three sons: Larry Rocker and wife Jennetti of Madrid, Peter Rocker of Clarksburg, VA, and Rev. Stephen Rocker of St. Patrick�(TM)s Church, Hogansburg; two daughters: Lois DeFio and husband Nick of Lakeland, and Rita O�(TM)Brien and husband Fran of Baldwinsville; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister: Mary Scouten of the Extended Care Facility, Lowville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Rocker in May 1999, and a grandson, Randal Rocker. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Rocker will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Martin�(TM)s Church, Port Leyden, with her son The Rev. Stephen Rocker as the Principal celebrant, with The Most Reverend Robert J. Cunningham, Bishop of the Diocese of Ogdensburg, and other priests of the diocese officiating. Interment will be in the spring in St. Joseph�(TM)s Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville.
