Port Leyden- Frederick W. Rocker, Jr., 76 of Moose River Road, husband of Susan, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Rome Health. He was born in Lowville, on June 2, 1946, a son of Frederick W. and Reba Hubbard Rocker, Sr. Frederick grew up in Port Leyden, on Pearl Street, and graduated from Port Leyden Central School, with the Class of 1964. Thereafter he was employed for his father as a logger, until he began his employment for the Town of Lyonsdale Highway Department, where he worked for many years in all aspects of highway maintenance. Later in his career, Mr. Rocker was elected to the position of Highway Superintendent for the Town of Lyonsdale, serving multiple terms as superintendent, until retiring. Mr. Rocker also was elected to the position of Tax Collector for the Town of Lyonsdale. On May 12, 1967, Frederick was united in marriage with Susan M. Brown, in Port Leyden. Many years ago the couple settled on the Moose River Road near Port Leyden. Frederick enjoyed a life interest in vintage cars and trucks and he was an avid NY Yankee Baseball fan, who was happiest while watching a Yankee ball game. In addition to his wife Susan, of 55 years, he is survived by five sons; Michael Rocker, Shane (Lisa) Rocker, Reuben Rocker, Jerome Rocker and Daniel (Crystal) Rocker; nine grandchildren, Brett, Nolan, Shelby, Nikki, Lily, Dalton, Autumn, William and Rosie; two great grandchildren, Stephen and Sadie and one sister, Darlene Bouchard. He was predeceased by sisters Helena Munn and Janet Marmon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a a Celebration of Life Service, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at The New Covenant Church, of Port Leyden, where Rev. Shane Rocker will officiate. There are no calling hours. Interment will follow in Port Leyden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
