West Leyden- Alex J. Nellenbach, 21 of State Rt. 26, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Alex was born in Lowville, on May 15, 1998, a son of Richard M. Nellenbach Sr., and Tracy Fowler Nellenbach. He lived his entire life on State Rt. 26, in the Town of Lewis, near West Leyden. He attended West Leyden Elementary School, before completing his education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville. For a time Alex was employed as a mechanic for Leitz Trucking Co., Frankfort; at the present time he was employed as a construction worker at Seamless Gutters, Frankfort. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He was also gifted with a natural mechanical ability. Alex’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children, family and his many friends. At the present time Alex was engaged to Erika Staring; in addition to Erika, he is survived by his children; Brenden and Madilyn. Also surviving are his parents; Richard M. and Tracy Nellenbach, Port Leyden; paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Nellenbach, Boonville and his maternal grandmother, Annett Fowler, Port Leyden. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard Fowler Sr. in 2016. In addition, Alex is survived by three brothers, Richard Jr. Lowville, Joshua, Boonville and Devon, Port Leyden; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends. Services will be held at on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 1:30 PM at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where a facial covering must be worn and social distancing and contract tracing will be observed. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be for the support of Alex’s children care of P.O. Box 52, Boonville, NY 13309. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
