Boonville- Yvette M. Vet Lallier, 64, of Reed Lane, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Albany Medical Center, where she had been a patient since July 21, 2019. Affectionately known as Vet, she was born in Utica, on September 13, 1954, a daughter of Richard A. and Mary Van Buskirk Lallier. Vet grew up in Denley, Town of Leyden and attended Port Leyden Central School, before graduating from South Lewis High School, with the Class of 1972, receiving a Licensed Practical Nurse Degree from BOCES Center, Glenfield. From 1972-1975, Vet was employed as an LPN at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville. In 1975, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she was employed at a nursing rehabilitation center, until 1980, when she returned to Boonville and was employed at Sunset Nursing Home. During this time, Vet attended and graduated from Herkimer County Community College, where she earned an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy. After that Vet was employed in the Occupational Therapy Department of Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, retiring in September, 2011. Throughout her many years of employment as a nurse and occupational therapist, Vet demonstrated a never tiring work ethic and she was a special angel to the many patients which she cared for. She bore the special gift of illuminating the lives of everyone around her. She will be fondly remembered for the many picnics which she organized at her home on Black River for the residents of Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Vet was a member of the Catholic faith and had attended St. Marys Church, Constableville. She greatly enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made many items of clothing, hats and mittens which she gave to many friends and residents at Sunset. She is survived by two sisters, Belinda Flansburg and Theresa E. Lallier. Vet was predeceased by a brother, Richard F. Ricky Lallier, on May 25, 2007, by her father, Richard Dick Lallier, on May 15, 1995 and by her mother, Mary L. Lallier, on February 3, 2018. Also surviving are three nephews, Jay Flansburg, Josh Flansburg, John Lallier, one niece, Melissa Lallier and her sister in law, Shelley Lallier, Boonville. Vet was predeceased by special friends, John Addington and Penny Oaster. Vet loved animals of all kinds; she is also survived by her loving canine companion, Roxy and by her loving feline companion, Miss Priss. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Church, Charles St., Boonville, with Rev. Thomas A. Ward, pastor as celebrant. Interment will be at the convenience of her family at St. Josephs Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Wednesday 3-7 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
