Port Leyden - William W. "Bill" Donaldson, 68, of Moose River Road, and formerly of North Pearl Street, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, after a long illness. He was born in Ilion on December 8, 1941, a son of Gary and Pearl A. (Scouten) Boardman. Bill grew up and received his education in Port Leyden. Later he was a self-employed woodsman, and for several years he was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Delhia Quarry in Port Leyden. His last employment was as a caretaker and repairman for a trailer park in Millington, TN. Following a retirement disability he returned to Port Leyden. Bill greatly enjoyed stock car racing and raced his stock car at Evans Mills and Watertown Speedway. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Raymond Poore, and a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Barbara Boardman, all of Port Leyden; several nieces and nephews; four great-nephews; and one great-great-niece. He is also survived by his special dog, "Sis." His Funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where Pastor Daniel Tabolt of Abundant Life Fellowship Church will officiate. Interment will be in Brooks Cemetery, Hawkinsville. Visitation hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire Company.
