~~Port Leyden - William T. Ritter, Jr., 49, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. William was born on August 27, 1967, a son of William T. Ritter, and Marianne Rose. He was raised in Forestport, graduating from Adirondack Central High School. For a time following his education, William was employed as an iron worker with Union Local #440, Utica. In the early 1990s William moved to his current residence in Port Leyden. Here he enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in his garage, as well as snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. William is survived by his mother, Marianne Paquin, Sherrill, his siblings: Steven (Allison) Ritter, Montana, Tasha and Ashley Ritter, both of Forestport; nieces Sadie Kaye and Rory Ritter, a nephew Kai Ritter, his step-mother, Anne Ritter, Forestport, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father William T. Ritter, Sr., and his step father John Paquin. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 10, at 12:30 pm at St. Patricks Cemetery, Forestport. Contributions of food may be taken to Kiefer Hall on Saturday any time after 12:00 Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box #682, Lowville, New York 13367. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
