William James 'Bill' Marcy

Boonville- William James Marcy, 85, of Potato Hill Road, affectionatley known as "Bill" passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born April 27, 1925, at the family homestead farm, the son of Walter Henry and Iva Sessions Marcy. After graduating from Boonville High School, with the Class of 1943, Bill operated the farm, and was also employed for many years as a machinist in the manufacture of cooking ware for Rome Manufacturing Co. His dancing partner for life, Lydia Zeller, married him on June 1, 1946, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Rome. The couple lived on their farm on Potato Hill Road for 64 years. Bill enjoyed coaching the Boonville Fireman Little League team and managing the Blue Sox Babe Ruth squad in the early 1960's. His life revolved around his family, the farm, western movies, playing golf, The North Country Boys Band, Kenny Youngs & the East Road Rythum Riders, his windmill, Ford tractors and baseball. Bill is survived by his wife, Lydia, two sons, William Jr. and wife, Sallie, Walter and wife, Mary, all of Boonville; one daughter, Debra Peach, and husband, William, Forestport; his grandchildren, Amber, Sarah and Shana Marcy, Lauren (Peach) Coffin, Ryan and Melissa Peach, and his great-grandchidlren, Jared, Justin and Ryder. Bill is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Bradley and husband, Stan, Nashville, TN., and Carol Brill and husband, Milton of Constantia, NY. He was predeceased by his sisters Norma Marcy and Doris Milligan. Bill's family expresses a note of sincere thanks and appreciation to Drs. Nadeem El Amir, and Eric Yoss, and to the staff at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home of Ilion, and Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. His funeral will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor Peter Egnew of the Bible Baptist Community Church, Port Leyden will officiate. A spring interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Visitation hours are Sunday 1-4 & 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions maybe made to Boonville Fire Company Ambualnce Fund, P.O.
