Seattle, WA & Remsen, NY - William H. Tyler, 46, of Marysville, WA, affectionately known as "Billy" and "Ty", went to heaven to be with his Dad and our Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, after a brief illness. Billy was born in Utica on January 18, 1964, a son of William, Sr. and Mae (Eilers) Tyler. He grew up on Steuben Street in Remsen and graduated from Remsen High School with the Class of 1982. He entered the U.S. Army in 1983, serving his country in the areas of chemical warfare, weapons of mass destruction, and biochemistry. He was honorably discharged in 1993. On May 9, 1987, Billy was united in marriage with Nancy Adams of Seattle, WA. In 1995 he enrolled at Wesleyan WA University, where he studied Epidemiology, Endocrinology, Toxicology, Cushing's Syndrome, and many other diseases. He also studied Pharmacology, in which he earned a Bachelor's degree. Mr. Tyler was currently employed at Dow Chemical Company as Director of Heath and Safety Facilities and Security, and had previously worked at PreCor, Inc. and Providence Health Systems, all located in the Seattle area. Billy had many interests, the first being the New York Yankees baseball team. He also enjoyed volunteering at various American Red Cross events, playing court sports, hiking, music, books, movies, and the Syracuse University Orange sports teams. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by a son, William R. Tyler and a daughter, Hannah Tyler, all of Seattle; his loving mother, Mae Tyler of Clark Mills; a sister, Laurie Cummings of Norwich, NY; a brother, Joseph of Boston, MA; a great-great-aunt, Mary Shibley of Utica; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his father, William in 2006, and by his grandparents, Jim and Pearl Eilers. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the Boonville United Methodist Church where the Reverend William A. Mudge will officiate. Interment will follow with military honors in Boonville Cemetery. Friends and family may call Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville.
