William H. Case

September 20, 1928 — February 21, 2009

Alder Creek - William H. Case, 80, of State Route 12, and formerly of Deer Run Road, Kayuta Lake, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford after a long illness. A native of Utica, he was born on September 20, 1928 to Fred and Grace Jones Case. He received his education in Utica, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On April 23, 1949, Mr. Case was united in marriage with Iris Burnham in Utica. The couple made their home in Utica and Whitesboro, until they moved to Kayuta Lake in 1970. Mrs. Case died on May 6, 1999. Mr. Case was employed for several years by Interstate Motor Freight as a truck driver. He later retired from the Teamsters Union Local, Utica, NY, as a truck driver for Yellow Freight. After moving to the Forestport area, he operated BAB Trucking Company. He was a life member and past president of the Forestport Fire Fighters, and enjoyed playing golf. William is survived by a son, Mark W. Case of Kayuta Lake; two grandchildren, Michael William Case and Breanna Rae Case; and by a great-grandson, Logan Michael Case, who was born on February 16, 2009. He was predeceased by a brother, Fred. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street. Boonville. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in William's name to the Forestport Fire Fighters.
