William F. Laquay

Boonville- William F. LaQuay, 82, of LaChausse Road, husband of Betty, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, while under the loving care of his wife.


Affectionately known as Willy, he was born on June 30, 1940 in Boonville a son of Frederick and Viola Joslin LaQuay. Following his education at Boonville High School he entered the US Army on June 9, 1959, serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War, until his honorable discharge on May 28, 1962.


Willy had a long career as a truck driver. For several years he drove fuel truck for ARC Gundry Co., Syracuse, NY, and more recently was employed for Rite Aid Distribution Center, Rome, retiring in 2003.


On August 4, 1994 William was united in marriage with Betty Capron Howard in Boonville. The couple have been longtime residents of LaChausse Road. He will fondly be remembered for his love of classical country music and going to dances. He was also a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Time spent with family and friends is what Willy cherished, whether that be playing golf, or cards, or sharing an extremely hot cup of coffee. He had fun taking trips to Burger King, playing scratch off lottery tickets and had a fondness for horses.


Besides his wife Betty, William is survived by his daughter Tracy (Hubert) Iseneker, step-children: Charles “Bernie” (Lu) Howard, Donna Marmon, Patricia (Rodney) Denslow, William Ostrander, Susan (Wayne) Fristik, and Gordon (Mary Jo) Hines; grandchildren: Kevin (Amanda) Owen, Aaron Iseneker, Rachel Iseneker, Michael (Tracie) Howard, Kelly Buchanan (Doug), David (Amanda) Marmon, Fredrick (Vanessa) Denslow, Patrick Denslow, and Rebecca Denslow (Jordan); great-grandchildren: Elijah, Olivia, Ryker, Kaisley, Aaliyah, Xavier, Doug, Eric, Blaze, Alexis, Mason, Lillian, Cason, and Adalyn. He is also survived by his brother David (Grace) LaQuay, and sister Janice (Russell) Pfendler. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Gertrude LaQuay.


A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 3-7 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Graveside services will be held in Hayes Cemetery, Hawkinsville on Wed. May 17, at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jack Ford officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co. & Ambulance, P.O. BO #164, Boonville, New York 13309 or to the Charles J.
