Wilhelmina M. Radell

Westernville- Wilhelmina "Willie" (Mani) Radell, 85, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at home with her family. Willie was born on June 29, 1937, the daughter of David and Anna Berger Mani in Ava, NY. At the age of 5, she and her family moved to Frenchville, where she currently resided. Willie graduated from Holland Patent Central School in 1955. She studied accounting at MVCC. On March 16, 1956, Willie married her high school sweetheart Maxwell "Pat" Radell. They were married 28 years, when Max passed away on August 12, 1984. As Max was the Highway Superintendent for Western at the time, Willie completed his term. Willie was employed at Revere Copper & Brass as a Senior Clerk, retiring in 1997, with 37 years of employment. Willie and her close friend and companion Harold Lenaghen "Grandpa Harold", had a camp on Black River which they enjoyed for many years. Many memories were made here with her grandchildren and Grandpa Harold. Willie also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities, and was proud of all of their accomplishments. She greatly enjoyed gardening, being outdoors tending her vegetable and flower gardens or just mowing the lawn. At one time she had over 100 house plants. She was a member of North Western United Methodist Church, where she once taught Sunday School. She was a forty year member of Westernville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, where she was also an EMT with the Fire Co.. Willie was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader. Willie is survived by her children: Anna Radell-Weaver, Boonville, Michael (Joan) Radell, Clarks Summit, PA, Daniel Radell, Constantia; grandchildren: Laine (Ryan) Compton, Riverhead, NJ, Chelsae Radell, Kodiak, AK, Ian Radell and his longtime buddy Brittany Van Duzer, TX, and a great-grandson Cody Compton. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren and their families: Nathan, Ashlea, Simon and Richard, a sister-in-law June Mani, and also Patricia Radell. Willie enjoyed the companionship of her close family friend Helen C. DeHart. Her family is forever grateful for her kindness and care. Besides her husband Max, Willie was predeceased by her longtime companion Harold Lenaghen in February 2010, her brother George Mani in September 2009, and son-in-law Carlton Weaver in February 2011. Her Funeral will be on Thursday, July 14, at 12:00 Noon at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Robert Wollaber will officiate. Interment will follow in Westernville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westernville Fire Co. or to North Western United Methodist Church.
