Wayne D. Schindler

Wayne D. Schindler, 62, of East Road Collinsville, (Town of West Turin,) husband of Barbara Fruin Schindler, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 28, 2006, while under the care of his loving family and Lewis Co. Hospice. He was born in Lowville, on November 10, 1944, a son of Joseph E. and Margaret L. Albertson Schindler. Wayne grew up on the Schindler homestead farm on Rt. 26 near Constableville, attending Constableville High School. He later joined Local Carpenters Union # 1016 of Rome, and was employed in carpentry and building construction in central New York. He was also employed for many years by Paul Lyndaker Excavation and Trucking Co. of Lowville, and most recently for V.S. Virkler and Sons, Inc., of Lowville, as a heavy equipment operator, until his illness began in October, 2006. On April 15, 1967, Wayne was united in marriage with Barbara Fruin at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church of Constableville. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Barbara, Wayne is survived by two sons: Wayne Schindler, Jr., and his wife, Beth, Collinsville, David Schindler, and companion, Susan Myers, Port Leyden, and one daughter; Theresa Loomis and husband, Scott, Constableville. He was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Ann Schindler, on October 14, 1972. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; two brothers and sisters in law: Joseph Eli Schindler, and Beverly, Boonville, William and Phyllis Schindler, Houseville, two sisters and brothers in law; Roxie and Myles Higby, Boonville, Mary and Richard Chase, Palermo, his mother in law; Mary Rhone, Pennysettlement, two brothers in law; Ronald Fruin, of Pennysettlement, Dennis and Barbara Fruin, Hawkinsvivlle, two aunts and one uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. His Funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church, Constableville, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Patrickï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Constableville. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home, with a Christian Wake Service on Friday at 3:45 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis Co.
