Walter C. 'Walt' Coe

Boonville - Walter C. Coe, 75, of Evans Road, formerly of Verona and East Road near Talcottville, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville. Walter was born in Boonville on September 12, 1934. He graduated from Boonville Central School with the Class of 1953 and later served in the US Army. He was married to the former Geraldine Rowlands. Mr. Coe was employed at the former Grand Union and Ethan Allen Furniture Company, both of Boonville, and for over 30 years as a therapy aide at the Rome Developmental Center. In addition to his wife, Geraldine, he is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Diane and Jeff Ward and Darlene and Tom Bourgeois, all of of Remsen, and Donna and Bill Phillips of Boonville; six grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Coe of Talladega, AL; two sisters, Helen Reader of Rome and Frances Tracey of Pelzer, SC. Walt was predeceased by a son, Douglas Coe. Services are Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville with interment to follow at Fairchild Cemetery in Remsen.
