Greig- Victor O. Leaf, 56, of Higby Road, affectionately known as "Daddyo," and as "Orville," in his youth, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Grand Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Rome, where he had resided since July, 2016. He was born in Lowville, on September 30, 1960, a son of the late Murel and Betty Gardner Leaf. He grew up in the Lowville area, receiving his education at Lowville Academy & Central School. He lived in the Port Leyden and Greig areas and for many years he was employed on Lewis County dairy farms and also for Bill's Auto Repair of Boonville. Victor enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing and mudding. He loved his grandchildren and greatly cherished time spent with his family. Daddyo will be fondly remembered as being a very kind hearted man, who always made people laugh. He is survived by his former wife, Valerie (Genito) Leaf, Greig; three daughters, Valissa Leaf (Gerald) Zehr, Sarasota, FL, Eva Mae Leaf and Richard Farr, Lyons Falls, Vicki Leaf and Russell Hutchins, Jr. Port Leyden. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Leaf, on September 24, 1991; his parents, Murel, in 1966 and Betty Leaf Mooney, 2004; two sisters, Mary Jane Leaf and Eva Mae Leaf, both in 1966, and a son in law, Jamie Duvelow, in 2009. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Mandie Duvelow, Kylie Duvelow, Eian Hutchins, Abigail Hutchins, Summer Zehr, Kendra Zehr, Maddison Zehr, Hailey Zehr; two sisters, Jean Leaf Bowman, Boonville and Michelle Leaf Bonner, Watertown; two brothers, Thomas Leaf, Watertown and Jacob Mooney, Boonville and several nieces, one nephew, great nieces and great nephews. His Funeral will be Saturday at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in Port Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his family.
