Lyons Falls- Veronica E. Sullivan, 52, of Cherry St. formerly of Constableville, passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2014, at her residence while under the loving care of her companion, Kermit, her family and hospice. Veronica was born in Constableville, on January 22, 1962, a daughter of Robert and Charlotte Bourgeois Sullivan. She grew up on the Sullivan Family Farm on West Road, near Constableville, receiving her education at Constableville Elementary School, graduating from South Lewis Senior High School, Turin, with the Class of 1980. While in high school, she majored in Culinary Arts, at Howard G. Sackett BOCES Center, Glenfield. She greatly enjoyed cooking and baking; after completing her education she was employed as a cook at Hotel Parquet, Constableville, and at John Barley Corns Restaurant, Turin. She was also employed for Stewarts Stores in Lyons Falls and for many years she enjoyed caring for her great nieces and nephews. Veronica was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. For over 20 years, Veronica's vocation and passion in her life was working with handicapped children who lived in private residences through her employment as Recreational Coordinator for the Lewis County location of Disabled Persons Action Organization (DPAO) of Watertown. Veronica considered the children that she cared for in the DPAO program were like her own children. The love and care that she touched scores of young lives with will be sorely missed. In addition to her fiance and companion of 15 years, Kermit A. Luther, Lyons Falls, Veronica is survived by Kermit's son, Kyle R. Luther and his fiance, Megan Ripp, Lyons Falls; one brother Dale (Lisa) Sullivan, Boonville; nieces and nephews, whom she deeply loved and considered to be like her children, Shannon M. Sullivan (Adam Beyer), Bradley J. Sullivan (Mariah), Joseph R. Sullivan, Jr. (Alicia) and Shawn G. Sullivan, all of Constableville, Andrew Sullivan (Janel), CT, Carrie Sullivan (Larry), Glenfield, Trisha Menard, Westmoreland; five great nephews, Owen, Aidan, Ethan, Kevin and Colin, one great niece, McKenna and a special friend, Jayne Jones, Lyons Falls. She was predeceased by her father, Robert, on August 20, 2003, and by her mother, Charlotte, on July 24, 2004, and by her brother, Joseph R. Sullivan, Sr. on September 21, 2013. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Lewis County Home Health Care and Hospice and Faxton St. Luke's Regional Cancer Center for all of the care and compassion given to Veronica. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Constableville, with interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville.
