Trevor Charles Ammon

June 13, 1995 — February 9, 2022

Lee Center- Trevor "Trev" Charles Ammon, 26, of Harris Road, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Affectionately known as Trev, he was born in Rome, on June 13, 1995 and passed into the arms of his loving grandparents, Charles and Edna Ammon, Grandpa "Jack" John Scales and cousin, Jim LaPlante. His passing comes with much sadness but also with a release knowing he is no longer struggling. Trevor struggled with depression and drug addiction and most recently a traumatic brain injury due to a car accident. Trevor was the son of Eugene and Vicky Scales Ammon and her companion, Francis Come; brother of Tyler Ammon and his fianc Nikki Hamon and grandson of Doris Scales. Also surviving are his nephews; Connor and Jace; a niece, Natalie; aunts and uncles Sharon and Doug Finstser, Jo Ann and Jarret Hunt, Linda and Murray Lee; cousins, Emily, Tess, Claire, Amdanda and Justin. He leaves behind a friend Lindsay Natarelli and his beloved dogs Greta, Nala and his cat, Louiee. He grew up in West Leyden on the Ammon Road, and later in Lee Center. He attended West Leyden Elementary School, before graduating from Adirondack Central School, Boonville. While in high school, Trevor attended Howard G. Sackett BOCES Center, Glenfield, majoring in Auto Mechanics. Trevor possessed the brilliant mind of a natural born mechanic. It was truthfully said of Trevor, "that he could fix anything related to a motor or automobile." During high school, he began a restoration of an old 1961 Ford that his Grandpa Charlie and Jack had also worked on. Later he fixed up and painted his old VW Golf to become the famous "General Lee." During his high school years, Trevor was employed on many local farms and always standing out in his memory was employment for Larry Kent Farm, West Leyden and the VanLieshout Farm, Lee Center. Later he was employed as a mechanic at Auto Tech of Rome, with his beloved Green Toolbox. He was a member of the West Leyden Reformed Church and also greatly enjoyed running in the 15K Utica Boilermaker Road Race, with his aunt Jo Ann. Trevor possessed a great heart and faced many of his challenges head-on. He was truly "embarrassed" about many of his wrong turns and poor decisions. However, in his own words, "I have owned it all." He had constant support from his mom, Vicky, grandma Scales, cousin Amanda and good friend, Ronnie Evanciew. Trev will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his favorite saying, "Keep it between the ditches!" His Funeral will be Wednesday, February 16, at 7:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where friends and family are invited and may call from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may b made to the Lee Center Fire Department or to West Leyden Reformed Church, C/O 4546 Mud Lake Road, West Leyden, NY 13489
