Forestport- Timothy J. Moreau, 68, passed away, at his residence, while under the loving care of his sisters and Hospice and Palliative Care, on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Timothy was born in Ilion, on June 13, 1956, a son of Alfred J. Moreau and Florence M. Angus Moreau. He graduated from high school in Utica and furthered his education attending college. Mr. Moreau serviced his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged.

Tim was married to Lori Brown and has a daughter. Later the couple had divorced and had always remained as friends.

For many years Tim resided in Utica and Rome, where he was employed for many years as a truck driver. Two years ago, he moved to Forestport and resided with his sister, Amy.

Tim enjoyed the outdoors and greatly excelled in mathematics and carpentry and remodeling. He was also a lifelong renown Chess player. He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Moreau, Clayville; two sisters, Amy Moreau and Kim Barton and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Alfred Moreau, Jr. Carol Moreau, Joseph Moreau and Barbara Moreau. Also surviving is favorite canine companion, “Toby.”

Tim’s family wishes to express a sincere note of thanks and appreciation for the loving care which Hospice and Palliative Care staff and the medical staff at the Rome and Syracuse Veteran’s Medical Centers extended to Tim during his illness. All which you did for Tim is greatly appreciated!

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, New York 13413. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, NY.
