Lyons Falls- Thomas M. Levesque, 84, of Samson Terrace, husband of Susan, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville. Tom was born in Lyons Falls, on April 27, 1933, a son of Adelard and Julia Thibeault Levesque. He received his education at Lyons Falls High School and Lowville Academy & Central School, later earning his GED. For 43 years, Mr. Levesque was employed at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. retiring in 1995 from Lyons Falls Pulp and Paper Co., Lyons Falls. A previous marriage to Joan Zimmer ended in divorce. On January 17, 1970, Tom was married to Susan Clark LaFave, at the Boonville Methodist Church. Tom, loved and served his fellow man, and he lived this axiom by making many contributions to the community of Lyons Falls, which he felt a great affection for. He was a longtime member of Lyons Falls Fire Department; for many years he served as caretaker for the large Lyons Falls Community Christmas Tree, on McAlpine Street. Tom also was active in raising funds for the memorial fence at Lyons Falls Town Park. When he was not at his employment or caring for his family and community, Tom greatly enjoyed time spent at his beloved camp at Buck Lake. For throughout his life, Mr. Levesque attended St. Johns Church, Lyons Falls; more recently he had attended Forest Presbyterian Church, Lyons Falls. In addition to his wife, Susan, Tom is survived by his siblings, Joseph (Margaret) Levesque, Patricia Watson, Lewis (Patricia) Levesque; his children, Bonnie Levesque, Georgianna Feller (Joseph), Tama Lunceford (Robert); step children, Anne Green, Cynthia LaFave, (Paul Rapoli), Michael LaFave, John LaFave (Satomi), several grandchildren, (including Sorawit (Ta) Phakdeetho - who resides with them), and several great and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Levesque Lynch, a stepson, Thomas LaFave and by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. In keeping with Toms wishes, his body was donated to medical science. A Memorial Service will be Monday, December 18, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Presbyterian Church, Lyons Falls, where relatives and friends may greet his family at the conclusion of the service. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Lyons Falls Fire Department P.O. Box 520, Lyons Falls, NY 13368. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
