Boonville- Thomas M. Giannico, 31, of Ford Street, husband of Melisa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 19, 2013. Tom was recently diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare congenital disorder which he has had since birth. Born on March 14, 1981, in Rome, New York, Tom was a son of Thomas Giannico and Cathleen Cihocki. Tom grew up in the Rome area, and for a short time lived in Annandale, Virginia, where he graduated from Annandale High School, with the class of 1999. Following his graduation, Tom returned to the area, where he resided for a short period in Rome and Oneida. Tom and Melisa met in 2000, and in 2001 he moved to Boonville to be closer to his future bride. On November 1, 2010, Tom was united in marriage with Melisa Lawrence in Lake Placid, New York. Currently Tom was employed with APAC Customer Service of Utica. Tom will be remembered for his loving devotion to his wife, and the wonderful care and attention given to his son Liam, who was born July 15, 2012. Tom was a movie critic, a talented artist, and enjoyed drawing, as well as working on electronics. Tom was loved by all his friends, his big hearted and caring personality will be missed by all. Thomas is survived by his wife Melisa, his son Liam; his mother and step-father, Cathleen (Jim) Reilly, his father, Thomas Giannico, step-mother, Celeste (Gordon) Owens, his siblings: Christopher, Patrick (Ashley), Dominic, Michael, and Millissa Giannnico; his step siblings, Kate and Clare Owens, Bryan and Karrisah Reilly, and Amber McIntosh. Tom is also survived by his maternal grandmother Josephine Cihocki, and his paternal grandparents Mike and Winnifred Giannico, several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Frank Cihocki, Jr. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment in the spring will be in Boonville Cemetery, Boonville. Memorial donations may be made in trust for his son Liam, at any Community Bank, N.A. location.
