Theodore L. Weiler

Fish Creek- Theodore L. Weiler, 82, of Fish Creek Road, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, while under the loving care of his family. Earlier this year, he had resided at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. He was born on January 5, 1932, at the Weiler Homestead Farm on the Fish Creek Road, near Constableville, a son of George and Pearl Kaido Weiler. He graduated from West Leyden Central School, with the Class of 1951. In 1952, Mr. Weiler entered the U.S. Army, serving state side and in Green Land during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1954. For 16 years, he was employed as a carpenter in building construction for Carpenters Union Local 1016, United Carpenters and Joiners of Rome, NY, and for several years he operated the Weiler Dairy Farm with his brother, Leslie. Mr. Weiler was united in marriage with Sylvia Kriwox, who died in October, 2013. He was a long time member of St. Peter's & Paul's Church, Fish Creek. He greatly enjoyed Baseball and Football, Ted was a NY Yankee Fan, and a NY Giants Fan. He found enjoyment in attending the Lewis County Day Care Facility at Lewis County General Hospital, where he made many companions, especially acknowledging staff members, Gail and Carla. He is survived by one son, Matthew M. Weiler, Constableville, and his children, Ian and Elysa Weiler; one daughter Barbara Ann Rhubart, Port Leyden, and her children, Alex N., Meghan and Cassandra Rhubart, Johnathan Weiler, who is the son of Sheila Doztan Smith and Kevin William Weiler, who predeceased Theodore on May 25, 2006. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Alex Mathieu and Kevin Weiler, who are the sons of Johnathan Weiler, and by two sisters, Pearl Waldron, Lowville, Adeline Croniser, West Leyden; two brothers, Norbert Weiler, Boonville and George Weiler, West Leyden. He was predeceased by brothers, Ambrose, Alvin, Leslie, Thomas, Clayton, Robert, and by one sister, Luella Brinkerhoff, and a step brother, Mike Weiler. His Funeral will be Thursday, July 3, at 10:15 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, West Leyden, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:30 AM until 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, West Leyden.
