Woodgate- Thelma W. Cox, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, at the age of 92. She was born in the Town of Camillus, on April 8, 1923, a daughter of Benjamin Walker and Mamie Warren Walker. On August 31, 1944, she was joined in marriage to the late Robert E. Cox, in a union that endured for 58 years, until his passing away on July 22, 2002. Mrs. Cox was an employee of Pass & Seymour in Solvay, NY, for 10 years, thereafter she greatly loved being a homemaker. She and Robert began residing in Woodgate for the summers in 1955. In 1983, converted their summer camp into a year-round home, becoming full time residents of Woodgate. As the years passed by, Bob and Thelma enjoyed traveling to various antique shows where they bought and sold antiques. For many years she greatly enjoyed doing wood crafts, knitting, embroidery, baking and sewing. She enjoyed watching Yankee Baseball with her family and in more recent years she became a SU Basketball fan. Mrs. Cox will be fondly remembered for her very proficient knitting skills; she could reproduce a picture in a knitted form without using insructions. Mrs. Cox is survived by her son and daughter in law, Robert J. (Lynette) Cox, Bridgeport; one brother and sister in law, Edward R. "Bobby" (April) Walker, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Thelma's wishes there will be no services or visitation. Memorial contributions maybe made to either Woodgate Fire Department for EMT Services, PO Box 187, Woodgate, NY 13494, or to Prospect Fire Department Ambualnce Fund 915 Trenton Falls Rd. Prospect, NY 13435. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville, NY.
