Boonville- Thelma D. Farr, 81, formerly of Boonville and West Leyden, passed away while surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville, where she had resided since June, 2018. Most recently Mrs. Farr had resided at Kortenaer Village, South St. in Boonville. Thelma was born in Hawkinsville, on October 20, 1937, a daughter of William and Hattie Chase Dauback. She graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1955. On May 26, 1956, Thelma was united in marriage with Richard L. Farr, at Boonville Methodist Church, with The Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. For many years the couple lived on State Rt. 294, West Leyden. Mr. Farr passed away on April 4, 2002. For many years Mrs. Farr was employed as a secretary at Griffiss Airforce Base, Rome, and in the same capacity at The Howard G. Sackett BOCES Center, Glenfield. For several years she was the bookkeeper for Notch Pole & Timber Co., a utility pole company operated by Mr. Farr. Thelma was last employed as a secretary in the travel department at the Air Developmental Center, (Rome Lab), Rome, NY. Mrs. Farr also served with her husband, Richard, in the NYS Timber Producers Association. Thelma greatly loved her children and her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she cherished time which she spent with her family. Thelmas family was the center of her life. She especially enjoyed taking and collecting photos of her family and many treasured family celebrations. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Lane (Robert), Nunda, NY, Rhonda Kraeger, (Thomas), Constableville. Thelma was predeceased by a son, Randy Lee Farr, on January 11, 2004, and by a grandson, Andrew Kraeger in 2009. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Tonya Snoddy (Brandon), Reena Rogers (Joshua), Bobby Jo Szijarto, Sarah Glouse (William), Richard Farr, Lee Kraeger (Nichole), Renea Farr, Bruce Kraeger and Rebecca Farr, 26 great grandchildren and one sister, Lavona Cruikshank, Wilmington, NC. She was predeceased by sisters; Winnifred Green, Pearl Dolan, Louise Czajka, and by brothers; Kenneth, Robert, Charles and Clarence. Her Funeral will be Friday at 3:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with an interment in the spring in Turin Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 12 Noon until the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis County Extended Care Facility Resident Activities Fund 7785 North State St. Lowville, New York 13367.
