Las Cruces, NM - Thelma (Barringer) Gleasman, 98, formerly of Clinton and Boonville, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces. Mrs. Gleasman was born in Ava on September 24, 1910 to Seymour W. and Etta (Tuttle) Barringer. She spent her youth in the Flint Town area of Ava, attending a one-room school before completing her education at Boonville High School. Thelma was united in marriage with Stuart A. Gleasman on June 11, 1938 at her home in Ava. The couple lived in Boonville until moving to Clinton in 1944. Mrs. Gleasman moved to New Mexico following her husband's death on July 13, 1992 to be closer to her son, Carl. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Linda Gleasman of Las Cruces, NM; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Hartson of Ava; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Gleasman of Chelan, WA; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Young of Boonville. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Ronald; two sisters, Gladys Ringwald and Ethel Spinelli; and a brother, Wallace Barringer. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where the Reverend William A. Mudge, pastor of Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 17 at the funeral home.
