Susanne Carr

~~Steuben- Susanne Carr, 70, of Latteiman Road, widow of Roger E., passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. Susanne was born in Watertown, on November 15, 1946, a daughter of James and Phyllis Anderson Pierce. She grew up in Dexter, NY, graduating from General Brown High School, with the Class of 1964. Thereafter she furthered her education, attending Utica School of Commerce. On September 10, 1965, Susanne was united in marriage with Roger E. Carr, Sr. in Brewerton. The couple lived in Utica and in Bridgewater, before moving to their present home, in the Town of Steuben, in 1986. Mr. Carr, a veteran of the Viet Nam War and a retiree from Vicks Lithograph and Printing Co. of Yorkville, passed away on April 3, 2015. During their marriage, Susanne treasured her days as a loving wife and homemaker to Roger and to her children. Later for several years, Mrs. Carr, was employed as a Deli Clerk, at the Great American Grocery Store in Boonville. Mrs. Carr was a member of the Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Boonville. She greatly enjoyed gardening, raising both flowers and vegetables, cooking, crocheting and reading. Susanne greatly loved her family; she is survived by two sons, Roger, Jr. and his wife, Patty, Remsen, Jestin and his wife, Jennifer, Boonville; two daughters, Rebecca Hartman and her husband, Brian, Floyd, Noel Carr and her fiance, Adam Stocklosa, Steuben; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Katlyn, Hunter, and Makenna and a great grandchild, Kaylena. She was predeceased by a great grandchild, Dante. Also surviving are two brothers, Tim Pierce and his wife, Nancy, Forestport, Ronnie Pierce and his wife, Mo, Florida; a sister Debbie Suders and her husband, Mike, Clinton. Susanne greatly loved animals and through the years she rescued many pets; she is also survived by her beloved dogs, Smokey and Bandit and cat Missy. A private memorial service will be held; there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 110 Lomond Court Utica, NY 13502, or to the Stevens Swan Humane Society 5664 Horatio Street Utica, NY 13502. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
