Susan A. Johnstone

Boonville- Susan A. Johnstone, 60, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since May, 2015. For many years she resided on Erwin St. in Boonville, before moving to Kortenaer Village, Boonville. She was born in Constableville, on December 19, 1955, a daughter of Robert and Charlotte Hall Johnstone. Sue grew up on the North Lake Road, near Forestport and received her education at Boonville Central School, graduating from Adirondack Central School, with the Class of 1976. For many years Sue was employed for the Rome Sentinel in paper delivery in the Boonville area, and she also served as a volunteer in Mrs. Emory's classes at Boonville Elementary School. She was married to Frederick J. Evans and later the couple were divorced. During her youth she attended Forestport Presbyterian Church. She possessed a great love and tender affection for animals of all kinds. Sue enjoyed a lifelong interest and talent in photography and had displayed much of her photography work at the Boonville Oneida Co. Fair. She loved the outdoors. Sue is survived by one son and daughter in law, Frederick R. and Elana Evans, Rome; two brothers and one sister in law, Phil and Amy Johnstone, Saranac Lake and their family, Andy, Saranac Lake, and Meghan, New York City, Robert B. Johnstone and his cousin, James Bruce Johnstone, Forestport. Sue was predeceased by her parents, Robert Johnstone in 2000 and Charlotte in 2007. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, on Wednesday, January 20, from 3-6 p.m. There will be no further services. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Resources of Central NY P.O. Box 237, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or to National Wild Life Federation 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190.
