Stanley Z. 'Stan' Pruckno

January 19, 1925 — January 13, 2008

Stanley Z. Pruckno, 82, a long time resident of Belle Isle Place, and more recently of Kortenaer Village, South St., passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Boonville, after a brief illness. Stanley was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 19, 1925, a son of Joseph and Katherine Yajecznik Pruckno. He moved to the Boonville area as a child, where his family settled on a farm on Dutch Hill Road. He graduated from Boonville High School. From June, 1945 until his honorable discharge, in December, 1946, Mr. Pruckno served in the U.S. Army in Europe, where he specialized in dismantling of army aircraft. After that he returned to Boonville, where he was employed in the operation of his family's dairy farm on the East Road. For forty four years, Stanley was employed as a machinist at Revere Copper & Brass of Rome. On October 29, 1955, Stanley was united in marriage with Rosemary Dolan at St. Joseph's Church of Boonville, where Rev. Edward Goulet officiated. Mrs. Pruckno a retired registered nurse at Adirondack Central School died on May 15, 2005. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, and the Boonville Council Knights of Columbus, the Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W., and the Boonville Elks Lodge, # 2158. Mr. Pruckno greatly enjoyed his family, and he is survived by three sons and two daughters in law: Joseph and Gail Pruckno, Boonville, Tom and Kathy Pruckno, Oxford, Ohio, Mike Pruckno, Boonville, one daughter: Nancy Pruckno, Avon, CO., eight grandchildren: Erin, Ellyn, Emily, Elayne, Travis, and Zoey Pruckno, two step grandsons: Brad and Rob Kornmeyer, one brother and sister in law: Edward and Eileen Pruckno, Boonville. He was predeceased by a sister Emily, who died as a child, and by brothers; Henry and Emil Pruckno. He is also survived by a sister in law; Katherine Pruckno, Barneveld, and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be Thursday at 10:15 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, both in Boonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in the spring will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Tuesday 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co.
