Stanley K. Lisowski

August 5, 1932 — January 2, 2014

Boonville- Stanley K. Lisowski, 81, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a long illness. He was born on the Lisowski homestead farm on the East Ava Road, near Ava, on August 5, 1932, the son of Konstanty and Anna Sieracki (also spelled Sheroski) Lisowski; Stanley received his education at West Leyden Central School. Later he was employed as a furniture assembler at Boonville Furniture Co. In 1952, Stanley was drafted into the U.S. Army, and served in the Korean Conflict at the front line. On July 14, 1954, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal, receiving the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, a Conspicuous Service Metal from NYS, United Nations Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, for many years Stanley was employed through Union Local 545, Syracuse, NY, where he was a heavy equipment operator for Kehler Construction Co., Albany, NY, retiring from full time employment in 1994. After returning home he was united in marriage to Violet Moscicki on February 7, 1956, in Boonville. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Charles J. Love Post American Legion, and Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. all of Boonville. Stanley was an excellent tinkerer; he greatly enjoyed repairing and rebuilding tractors and motors, collecting Hess Trucks; in the past he had enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Lisowski is survived by his wife, Violet, four sons, Joseph (Kris) Lyons Falls, Randolph, Michael (Sandy) and Thomas (Kathy); one daughter, Terry, all of Boonville; eight grandchildren. One granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Farr, was very special to Stanley, and did many things with and for Stanley and loved her grandpa dearly. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren; one sister, Jennie Platt, Boonville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Eva, Estella Backer, Lottie Backer and Phyllis Sasenbury, and two brothers, Stephen and Joseph. A Prayer Service will be Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. where calling hours will be Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., and on Monday from 1-2 p.m. Interment with Military Rites will be in the spring in Boonville Cemetery.
