Hawkinsville- Stanley James Yager, III, 54, of LaChausse Road, affectionately known as Jimmy, husband of Dawn, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Friday, April 29, 2022, while surrounded by the loving care of his wife and family. He was born in Utica, NY, on November 23, 1967, a son of Stanley J. and Glenda (Ramsdale) Yager, Sr. Stanley grew up on his family's dairy farm on the Millers Woods Road, near Hawkinsville and received his education at Adirondack Central School, graduating with the Class of 1986. While in high school, Jimmy was a very active member of Future Farmers of America. After completing high school, Stanley furthered his education at SUNY Morrisville, where he graduated with the Class of 1988, earning an Associate Degree in Animal Husbandry, before attending Cornell University, Ithaca, graduating with the Class of 1990, earning a Bachelor Degree, in Animal Science. Mr. Yager also received a certificate for employment as a substitute teacher; for several years he was employed as a long term substitute teacher at Adirondack and he also taught full time in 7 & 8th grade science at Adirondack Middle School. Later he transferred into self-employment as a dairy farmer, operating a dairy farm near Hawkinsville with his brother, John and later with his pride possession, son Brian Yager. His last employment was as a Fabricator of bus parts, for Oriskany Manufacturing Technologies, of Yorkville. On September 9, 1991, Stanley was united in marriage to Dawn Stringham, at the Hawkinsville United Methodist Church. Jimmy was a member of Boonville Rod & Gun Club and will be fondly remembered for his excellent talents at cooking and hosting large family holiday dinners. One of his culinary specialties and the envy of other cooks was his Macaroni and Cheese. Jimmy always greatly enjoyed attending his son, Brian's sporting events at Adirondack School and helping his wife, Dawn train for the annual Utica Boilermaker Road Race. In addition to his wife, Dawn, Stanley is survived by his beloved son, Brian J. Yager, Hawkinsville; his mother, Glenda, Hawkinsville; his siblings, Teresa Dailey (Darren), Tammy Heaton, John Yager, (Melissa), Joanne Yager, Mae Humphrey, (Chuck), Kim Yager, (Wendell), Ken Yager, (Dena); father in law, Don Stringham, (Peggy), brother in law, Beaner, (Beth), and a brother in law Ray, (Cherie), aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Stanley, Sr., in 2008, mother in law, Sandy Stringham, 1991 and by his beautiful daughter and angel, Elizabeth, in 1999 and by his best friend who was like his brother, Dwayne Hundley, in 2011. A celebration of his life will be held at his residence on LaChausse Road, Hawkinsville, on Sunday May 15, 2022, beginning at 1:00 P.M. His family would like to especially thank his neighbors, Bonnie, Ashley and Randy, for always being at Jimmy's call. His family also wishes to extend a special and heartfelt note of thanks to the staff of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Staff, Dr. Amy Gorczynski and her staff, also to Dr. Charles Eldridge for all of the medical care which was above and beyond excellent during the past two years.
