Stanley C. Sirois

Hawkinsville - Stanley C. Sirois, 33, of Wingert Road, fianc of Ms. Nicole A. Drelick, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born in New Hartford on September 22, 1975, a son of the late Michael S. and Rosemary Earl Sirois. Stanley grew up in Hawkinsville and graduated from Adirondack Senior High School in the Class of 1994. He furthered his education by studying the art and science of tree evaluation, trimming, and removal. He became a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture, and was also certified by ACRT as a powerline and urban arborist. Stanley and James Podkowka founded Black River Tree Service in 2006, which grew to serve many customers throughout north-central New York state. Prior to his tree removal career, he had founded Sirois Inc., a concern that specialized in construction, painting and roofing. Mr. Sirois was a member of International Society of Arbor Culture and the Hawkinsville United Methodist Church. During his high school years he began downhill skiing, and later became an avid snowboarder. He enjoyed this sport throughout the northeast, especially at Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid. Other favorite snowboarding destinations were Snowbird Mountain, UT, and Mount Baker, WA. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Stanley loved life and his family, and he had a very kind heart towards others. In addition to his fiance, Nicole, he is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Staff Sgt. James Earl, U.S. Army, currently stationed in Iraq, and April, of Temple, TX; two nephews, Logan and Chance; his grandmother, Violet Earl, Hawkinsville; four aunts and uncles, Stephen and Cherrie Earl, Boonville, Charles and Linda Earl, Port Leyden, Gary and Margie Earl, and Timmy and Karen Earl, all of Boonville; and several cousins. He is also survived by his beloved pit bull dogs: Ginger, Max, Harley, Sadie and Gabby. His funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where Pastor Joan Ripp of the Hawkinsville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Hayes Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Thursday, 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Stanley held a special place in his heart for his dogs and for animals of all kinds.
