Remsen- Stacy S. Jordan, 43, of Countryman Road, husband of Teresa, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a long and heroic struggle with illness. He was born in Lowville, on December 28, 1967, a son of the late Leonard "Pete" and Ramona Sturtevant Jordan. Stacy grew up on Cherry St. Lyons Falls, attending Lyons Falls Elementary School, before completing his education at South Lewis Senior High School, Turin. Thereafter he was employed as a stock man and then meat cutter in a grocery store in Old Forge, before his career as head meat cutter at the Boonville Big M, from the store opening in 1992, until retiring due to illness. For several years he was in a partnership with his brother in law, Dan Austin in the operation of a deer meat cutting business at his residence near Remsen. On May 27, 1995, Stacy was united in marriage with Teresa Austin at the Boonville United Methodist Church. In spite of his illness, Stacy possessed an indomitable spirit. He loved life, cherished every moment and greatly loved his wife, children and family. He had attended the Boonville United Methodist Church. Stacy loved the outdoors; he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Mr. Jordan was a member of the Vintage Snowmobile Club of Wisconsin, and the Trackside Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club of Forestport. In addition to his wife, Teresa, Stacy is survived by two sons, Joshua, age 6, Jaden, age 4, two brothers, Edward Sturtevant, Lowville, Tom Jordan and wife, Connie, Lyons Falls; one sister, Lisa Austin, and husband, Dan, Remsen. He was predeceased by a brother, Leon S. in 1990. Also surviving are two sisters in law, and their spouses; Marie and Ron Burr, Woodgate, Shirley and Dave Stevens, Remsen; and brother in law, and his spouse, Joe and Samantha Austin, Clinton, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral services are Friday at 12 Noon at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. Visitation hours are Friday 10 A.M. until the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to his family to be used towards the care of his sons, or to the National Kidney Foundation of Central NY, Inc. 731 James St. Ste 200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
