Forestport- Shirley J. (Casey) Hebert, 74, of Newton St., wife of Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Lewis Co. General Hospital, Lowville, after a brief illness. She was born in Lyons Falls, on June 24, 1936, a daughter of Henry A. Casey and June McNeil. Shirley grew up in Lyons Falls, receiving her education at Lyons Falls Central School. On November 25, 1961, she was united in marriage with Joseph E. Hebert, at St. Martin's Church Rectory, Port Leyden. This was a blessed union lasting for nearly 50 years. Shortly after their marriage the couple settled at their present home in Forestport. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She greatly enjoyed reading, and going to many dances with her husband, Joe. Mrs. Hebert was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Forestport. She was a charter member of the Forestport Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary, past treasurer, and she was named an Honorary Member of the auxiliary in 2011, after 47 years of membership and service to the fire department. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Debra Worcester, Austin, TX, Charles (Tammy) Marsden, Spokane, WA, Laurie Marmon, Clinton, Gail (Tim) McGurk, Westmoreland, June Hebert, Forestport; seven grandchildren, Eric Worcester, Quintin Worcester, Connor Marsden, Alexis Marsden, Daniel (Sheila) Marmon, Scott Marmon, Kaitlyn Hebert, two great grandchildren, Alex Worcester, Jade Worcester; one sister, Carol Lounsberry, Port Orange, Fla; two brothers, Donald(Bernadette) Casey, Ocala, Fla. David (Jeanette) Casey, Grove City, OH; one sister in law, Elizabeth (Roger) Montgomery, Blossvale, and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Funeral will be Satruday, at 10:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, Forestport, where Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Forestport. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
