Sarah M. Smith

Rome- Sarah M. Smith, 31, of Turin Road, passed away on Saturday, July 16, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, following a brief illness. Sarah was born on September 15, 1984 in Rome a daughter of Bryan Smith and Ruth Valade. She was raised in Boonville where she was educated. Following her graduation from Adirondack Central School, she began her employment with the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Utica, where she worked in the packing department. Sarah enjoyed listening to sports, especially baseball and basketball; she was an avid SU fan. Sarah also found great joy in taking a trip to the ocean. The central focus of her life however was her unending love and passion for serving God as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her worship and ministry were most important to her. Besides her parents, Sarah is survived by her siblings: Paul Smith, Shannon Sigala, Gregory Smith, and Pamela Maldonado, her maternal grandmother, Norma Pelletier, several aunts, uncles and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 4:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6615 Potter Road, Rome, NY. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. In lieu of flowers, contribution in Sarah's memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall.
