Lee Center - Sarah A. Rebe, 95, a former longtime resident of Lee Center passed away on September 15, 2021 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since 2016. Sarah was born on September 30, 1925 in Rome, a daughter of George and Mary Smith Alder. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy with the Class of 1942. On September 17, 1944 Sarah was united in marriage with Theodore W. Rebe at the Friends Quaker Church in West Branch. The couple settled near Ava, where they operated a dairy farm until the late 70's when they moved to Hawkins Corner Road, Lee Center. Mrs. Rebe was also employed at Griffis Air Base, Rome, where she retired as a supervisor in the key punch computer processing department. The couple were longtime members of the Point Rock United Methodist Church. Mr. Rebe passed away on April 27, 2005. On January 26, 2008, Sarah married Tom Salisbury who predeceased her in April 19, 2012. Sarah is survived by her daughter: Otilla (Norman) Fey, West Leyden; sons: Theodore Stanley (Shirley) Rebe, Jersey Shores, PA, and Paul Eric (Karen) Rebe, Lee Center, she was predeceased by her daughter Zada Moot on May 5, 2021. Also surviving are son-in-law Peter Moot, twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters Marie Landi and Grace Cogswell, and brother Thomas Alder. She was predeceased by her sisters: Ida Whipple, Bertha Wyman and Julia Lauber, and brothers: George, Howard and John Alder. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 12:00 Noon at the Point Rock United Methodist Church, with Rev. Deborah Wollaber officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. A calling hour will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until Noon. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Point Rock United Methodist Church, P.O. Box #142, Lee Center, NY 13363.
