Massena- Ryan J. McConnell, 33, of County Rt. 40, formerly of Old Forge, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, after a short illness. Mr. McConnell was presently employed as Branch Manager for Seacomm Federal Credit Union of Massena. Ryan grew up in Boonville, before moving to Old Forge, where he attended Town of Webb School, graduating with the Class of 2000. While in high school, he greatly enjoyed participating on the Soccer, Basketball and Golf teams. During his teenage years he was employed at Adirondack Pizzeria of Old Forge, and while in college, he was employed for his father as a carpenter at Peter Ferris and Son Builders. In 2004, Ryan graduated from SUNY Canton College, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. In 2004, he was selected to serve as an intern with Seacomm Federal Credit Union, Canton, NY office. Later he transferred to Seacomm's Massena location, where he was promoted to Branch Manager, several years ago. Mr. McConnell was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Massena, and the Massena Chamber of Commerce. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, camping and playing golf. Ryan is survived by his finance, Yrma Babilonia, Massena; his parents, Cynthia L. and Peter Ferris, III, Palm Coast, FLA, one sister, Nicole Ferris, Old Forge; a nephew and God-Son, Bentley Levensailor, Old Forge; his grandparents, Peter and Diane Ferris, Jr. Old Forge, his grandmother, Maxine McConnell, Boonville; uncles, Steven (Debbie) McConnell, Kenny (Brenda) McConnell, Keith (Jill) McConnell, all of Boonville and Pat McConnell, Port St. Lucie, Fla, an aunt, Christine Ferris, MD, and several cousins, his finance's parents, Yrma and Fernando Babilonia, and brother, Ferg (Annie) Babilonia, all of NY City and his best friends, Richard Russ, Hermon, NY and Joey Sharpe, Malone, NY. He was predeceased by grandparents, Charles J. McConnell, March 16, 2015, Shirley A. McConnell, January 1, 1986, and Josephine Ferris. His Funeral will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Thomas Ward, pastor, will celebrate of Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Massena, or to Massena Chamber of Commerce.
