Holland Patent - Ronald F. Mackey, 61, of Posey Hill Road died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Lewis and Oneida counties, he was born in Lowville on April 12, 1947, a son of the late Andrew and Clara (Hoffert) Mackey. Ron attended South Lewis Central Schools, graduating in 1965. On April 22, 1979 he was united in marriage with Ann Dennison Quickenton in Lyons Falls. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald A. Mackey of Whitesboro, and Jeffrey M. Mackey and his wife, Heather, of NC; a stepson, David Quickenton and his wife, Debra, of Delanson; a stepdaughter, Laura O'Connor and her husband, Mark, of Lake Pleasant; a stepdaughter-in-law, Laurel Quickenton, of AZ; two brothers, Richard Mackey and his wife, Patricia, of Rome, and Reginald Mackey of Liverpool; three sisters, Audrey Kolasa and her husband, Edward, of Boonville, Betty Ossont of Lyons Falls, and Germaine Clute and her husband, Dave, of Greig; a brother-in-law, James Dennison, of Three Mile Bay; 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William and Bernard Mackey; two sisters, Mary Lou Wakefield and Winifred Podkowka; and a stepson, Capt. Paul E. Quickenton, USMC. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville on Monday from 5 to 7 pm in a celebration of Ron's life.
