Amsterdam, NY- Ronald E. Capron, 48, of Snooks Corner Road, passed away at his residence after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was born in Utica, on November 23, 1962, a son of Clarence S. and Luella M. Webster Capron. He grew up in Hawkinsville, attending school in Boonville. Mr. Capron served his country in the US Marine Corps, in the US, Japan and Okiwana. He was honorably discharged on October 18, 1986. While serving in the Marines he received his GED Diploma. For many years he lived in the Amsterdam area where he was employed as a professional welder, carpenter and most recently for Carpenters Union Local 370, Albany, NY. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. Ronald is survived by two daughters, Megan and Amanda Capron, both Saratoga, one granddaughter, Madison Meers, his father, Clarence "Pudge" Capron, Hawkinsville, three sisters, Diana L. Sturtevant, Rome, Debra Capron and fiance Walt Matulewicz, Lowville, Brenda Rocker, Castleton, NY, and his companion of many years, Hollis (Holly) Scott, Amsterdam. He was predeceased by his mother, Luella, on October 12, 2005. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. His Funeral will be Saturday at 5:00 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in Boonville Cemetery on Wednesday, September 21, at 12:00 noon.
