Rolly Ann D.L. Kaalekahi-Adams

August 4, 1962 — August 11, 2024

Rolly Ann Dolores Leilani Kaalekahi-Adams, 62, wife of Michael William Adams, passed away while next to her husband on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Affectionately known as “KK”, she was born at Molokai General Hospital, Ho’olehua on the island of Molokai, Hawaii, on August 4, 1962, a daughter of Rolland and Loretta (Nerveza) Kaalekahi. KK grew up on the Island of Molokai where she received her education and graduated from high school, with the class of 1980. While in high school, she enjoyed being a part of the FFA and a “very loud” member of the cheerleading squad. After high school, KK enlisted in the U.S Air Force, and began her service to her country, on December 16, 1982. In 1988, she met the love of her life, Michael and on August 10, 1991, they were married at Kalaupapa Lookout Molokai, Hawaii. KK was Honorably discharged from the Air Force, August 12, 1992. From that time on, they travelled the world and raised their three children Kale, Cody, and Kiana while earning an Associate degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland . She loved traveling to have new experiences, enjoying her time with her husband Michael and making beautiful memories. She is a counselor to her children, giving them good advice when they needed it and caring messages to let them know everything is going to be ok. She loved to smile and to laugh, she would always make the time for jokes at ridiculous times, which her family continues to laugh about!

Our Mother was passionate about living and always shared her love for life! She loved cooking and feeding her family and all of their friends. Mom would take in everyone and feed them, showing her love and her care. She was very creative, she liked to quilt and crochet with her daughter, making lots of gifts. And…she knew how to party! And she taught her children how to dance and not to leave until everything is clean. She told her husband Michael when they first were dating, that if he didn’t dance with her, they couldn’t be together, well you know what our Dad chose to do. As much as she was a great mother to her children and a wonderful wife to her husband, she also did her best to be there for her community. As she raised her children, she was dedicated to helping in the young men’s and young women’s program as a counselor for her church, being a proud supporter of the school sports programs, and bringing her presence to anything her children were a part of. In her heart she always wanted to be there for people, especially the children. As the school secretary for West Leyden/Boonville Elementary, her role in school administration was important, however the role she was best at was giving support, caring and understanding to all the kids at school. She was quick to make adjustments and wanted things to be smooth for everyone, putting their needs before her own. She was always there to help, whoever needed it. Our mother made a great first impression, she had style and personality, she knew how to gather a room together and give everyone something that made them feel important. She is a matriarch that embodied the essence of ALOHA, to give hugs, to give gratitude and to be generous with her love. She is a force of nature, her ways have become our family’s tradition, she gave to us legacy and culture as a woman of Hawaii. We as her family are honored to have had her for as long as we did, and we hope all those lives she has touched continue to feel her blessing and send their prayers to our family during this time.

She is survived by Husband: Michael,  Children: Kale (Martina), Cody (Kara), Kiana (Sarah and Anthony), Sister Rollanda, Brother Rolland, & Sister Rolda, Pre Deceased- Parents Rolland and Loretta Kaalekahi, brother Charles.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 22, at 3:00 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. There are no calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of her family in a Veteran’s Cemetery, at Molokai, Hawaii.
