Bobby Magee 68 years of age gave up the Holy Spirit in his camp amid the woods of Forestport, New York on September 4, 2015. He was comforted by his wife of over forty years Robin, daughters Rianna, and Shawnna. Bobby was born and raised in Utica, N.Y. graduating from U.F.A. in 1965. He was baptized Episcopalian of faith. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps 1966 and was assigned Intelligence MOS, serving with the 3rd MAW and was stationed at DaNang and Marble Mountain in Viet Nam during the Tet offensive of January 1968. He relocated to Fort Lauderdale in the early seventies and plied his trade as a custom mirror mechanic; eventually owning and operating his own business Rare Reflections, which provided Dade and Broward Counties with residential and commercial artistic creations. Always adept with his hands, he had a passion for the Bonsai trees which adorned the backyard of his family's home. An avid boxing fan, he was knowledgeable in all aspects of the pugilistic art, and a classic rock aficionado; especially fond of British artists, including The Beatles. Bobby will be most remembered as a family man; loving husband, nurturing father, and doting grandfather. Nothing came before or between Bobby and his family. The many friends he graced throughout his lifetime will remember Bobby as a mentor, teacher, and confidant. He always offered prudent advice, and in time of need or crisis was true blue to all he knew; namely his friend for life Bob Sword, who came to visit Bobby during his final days among the quick. He is survived by his wife Robin of Forestport NY, daughter Rianna of Columbia, SC, her S/O Shane Faulkner, and their daughter Jenna ;( Bobby's granddaughter), Andy Rodriguez of Elon, NC, and Andy Jr. Rianna's son; (Bobby's grandson), daughter Shawnna of Fort Lauderdale and her S/O, Wade Haley, brother Billy Magee of Rome, NY, and his S/O Sharon, step father the Reverend Robert Adkins of Elmira, NY, uncle James Magee Sr. and aunt Rosanne, aunt Susan D'Amore, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins across the USA, England and Australia. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Magee, mother Mary Adkins, sister Bonnie Sears, brother in law Dennis Sears Sr., mother in law Darlene Humphrey, father in law John Morris, and many close friends; including Jimmy Leach, Johnny Murray, Gary Lazore, and Greg Boehlert. Special thanks to the visiting nurses of St. Elizabeth's, Hospice Care of CNY, the many friends from the Forestport area who assisted during Bobby's time of need, and the patrons of Dodson's Dive in Westmoreland, NY who provided unwavering moral support. His committal in the fall, followed by a celebration of life (better known as an Irish Wake) will be announced at a later date.
