Woodgate- Robert R. Rogers, 73, of Rogers Rd, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a long illness. He was born in Malone, on April 22, 1941, a son of Arthur A. and Dorothy E. Gervais Rogers. Robert grew up in Malone, later moving with his family to West Winfield and West Frankfort, where he completed his education. He was first employed for Canada Dry Bottling Co. of West Frankfort. In 1960, he moved to Rogers Road, Woodgate, where he had made his home with his sister, June Taylor for many years. For a total of 35 years, Mr. Rogers was employed as a laborer for the Town of Forestport Highway Department. He greatly enjoyed time spent with his family and assembling and painting scale models of cars and trucks. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers in law, June M. Taylor, Venice and Ted Harwood and Dorothy and Phillip Buckley, all of Woodgate; two brothers and sisters in law, Wayne Arthur and Irene Rogers, Woodgate and Arthur A. and Penny Rogers, Jr., Douglas GA, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Woodgate Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodgate or Otter Lake Fire Departments.
