Boonville - Robert Browning Moon, 86, of Boonville, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He grew up in Cazenovia, New York, and was the only child of educator Walter Edmund and Poet Lou Moon. After serving in the Navy in World War II, Bob went to Harvard University and pursued a career in advertising and product labeling. He was a devoted tennis fan and player, and an overall sports enthusiast, running his first marathon at age 70. Bob successfully lobbied against the Hawkinsville Dam project and served as the Planning Board Commissioner in Boonville, NY where he made his home. He is survived by his companion Fran Bradley, children, Bob Moon of Brooklyn, NY, Linda LaRock, of Penn Yann, NY, Sarah Pickell of Washington D.C., and Stewart Moon of Bloomington, IN, as well as his four grandchildren, Zachary, Lois, Emily and Patricia Moon. His friends and family will remember him for his sense of humor, appreciation of music, keen intelligence, love of nature, and zest for life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Boonville. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial donations may be made to American Rivers.
