Boonville- Robert L. Cook, Sr., 89, husband of Betty, of Feeder Street, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Robert was born in Turin on August 23, 1927, a son of Robert J. and Anna B. Salmon Cook. After completing his education at Lyons Falls Central School, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving in WWII, until his medical discharge in 1945. On October 2, 1946 Robert was united in marriage with Betty Adams at Forest Presbyterian Church, Lyons Falls. He was first employed as a machine operator at Moyer & Pratt Paper Co. Lyonsdale. Later for 20 years the couple lived in Carson City, Nevada, where Mr. Cook was employed as a machinist in machine parts manufacturing at Richdale Machine Parts Co. of Carson City, NV. In 1992 the couple returned to Boonville. In addition to his wife, Betty, of seventy years, Robert is survived by his children; Robert L. Jr. (Mary), Port Leyden, Joan (William) Ramsdale, Boonville and Thomas A. Hobart, IN. He was predeceased by three sons, Michael, Frederick and Franklin who died as an infant. Also surviving are grandchildren. Mr. Cook was the last of a family of 12 brothers and sisters. In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Interment will be in the spring in Port Leyden Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
