Boonville-Robert James Millard (Bob) went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 22, 2023 at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born to Theodore and Mildred Millard of Turin, NY on October 27, 1949. He graduated from South Lewis School with the class of 1970 and married his sweetheart, Debra Levensailor on November 16, 1973.
Bob began a lifelong love of carpentry at the age of 16 and started building homes while still in high school. He worked over 22 years at Lyons Falls Pulp and Paper, but always had a carpentry project. He built a home in Turin, NY, later moving and building a home in Boonville, NY. Bob made a move to Rome NY in 2000 and renovated a dilapidated home. In 2008 he returned to Boonville and built his final home.
Bob loved all things outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and in his later years he found fulfillment in bee keeping and homesteading. Bob was a member of the Christian Community Center in Turin, NY. He loved his God, his family and his church. Bob loved to teach, whether it was spreading his love of carpentry and bee keeping or serving his church. He was an elder in his church, and when he was younger he ran youth programs and bible studies. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debra Millard, his daughter Sonia Hernandez (Michael Hernandez), his son Christopher Millard, his son Derrick Millard (Amy Basler) and his beautiful granddaughter Levia Hernandez; his siblings Linda Millard, Elizabeth Krop (Bohdan Krop), Carol Hotchkiss (David Hotchkiss), David Millard (Sue Millard), and Gail (Thomas) Gordon, and his many nieces and nephews that he loved to spend time with. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Shirley Millard, Gerald Millard, and Kathy Aubel.
There will be a celebration of life memorial at the Christian Community Center, 4264 East Rd, Turin NY (across from South Lewis High School) on May 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are encourage to come and celebrate with Bob's family.
