Boonville- Robert J. Maryhugh, 82, formerly of Moose River Rd, husband of Barbara, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Lewis Co. Extended Care Facility, where he had resided for the past two years. He was born in Lowville, on April 11, 1929, a son of Michael J. and Thelma Orndorf Maryhugh. Bob grew up in the Port Leyden, Lyons Falls area, graduating from Port Leyden High School. In August, 1950, he enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in Germany, and in the US. He was honorably discharged with rank of Airman First Class on August 23, 1954. For many years Mr. Maryhugh was employed as a color man at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. Lyons Falls, retiring in 1994. He was employed as a delivery man for Fairchild Dairy of Lyons Falls, and Rossdale Dairy, Lowville, and he did carpentry work. On December 27, 1950, he was married to Barbara A. Fahey. In Greely, CO. From 1954 until 1987, when they moved to the Moose River Road, the couple lived in Port Leyden. Mrs. Maryhugh, a retired office manager in the Sales Division of Rome Cable Co. died on March 7, 1996. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Port Leyden, where he had served on the Vestry, a Past Commander of Harland J. Hennessey V.F.W. Post and Color Guard, Boonville, and Charles J. Love American Legion Post # 406, Boonville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Mitchell and Barbara Maryhugh, Boonville, Mark D. and Colleen Maryhugh, Copenhagen, Matthew A. and Nancy Maryhugh, Brownville; three daughters and sons in law, Melody L. Green, and Paul, Billrica, MA, Marilee M. Smykla, and Michael, Mayfield, and Michele J. Pirro, and husband Steven, Syracuse, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Marlynn Worley. His Funeral will be Wednesday, September 7, at 11:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William Wheeler will officaite. Interment will be in Port Leyden Cemetery, where members of Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. and Tun Tavern Marine Corps League will conduct military rites. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home, where members of the military organizations will meet in a group at 7 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Harland J.
