Holland Patent-Robert F. Dolan, 73, husband of Alice "Ki" a retired auto mechanic passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, after a brief illness. He was born in Highmarket, on October 23, 1938, a son of Robert M. and Loretta Stober Dolan. Bob grew up in the Town of Leyden, moving to Boonville as a child with his family, settling on upper West St. He gradauted from Boonville Central School with the Class of 1958, after that serving his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. On June 27, 1964, Robert was united in marriage with Alice "Ki" Boshart, at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls, with Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen officiating. This was a blessed union of 47 years. The couple lived in Utica before moving to Holland Patent in 1966. A talented auto mechanic, he was first employed for C. Hughes Motors in Boonville, followed by employment for several years as a mechanic for Koerner Ford, Yorkville, owner and manager of Uptown Mobil Service Station, Utica, equipment salesman at Halligan Roberts John Deer dealership, Oriskany, before retirng as Service Parts Director for N.J. Curry Oldsmobile Dealership, Marcy. In 1991, Bob and his wife began their employment as managers of the Adirondack Leaque Club at Honnedaga Lake. After their retirement, Mr. Dolan became a self taught Master Wood Turner. Mr. Dolan was a member of St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent and a fifty two year member of Boonville Lodge of Elks # 2158. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman, later greatly enjoying gardening, landscaping and cooking. In addition to his wife, Ki, he is survived by three sisters, Eileen (Edward) Pruckno, Elizabeth (Edward) Berger, all of Boonville, Sally Dangerfield, Kailau Kona Hawaii; two brothers, Stephen C. Dolan and Bernard (Marilyn) Dolan, all of Boonville, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a brother in law and sister in law, Gerald and Frances Boshart, Lyons Falls. He was predeceased by a sister and brother in law, Rosemary and Stanley Pruckno, a sister in law, Genevieve Dolan, and two brothers in law, Ed and Brian Boshart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen, a cousin of Roberts'on Monday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent, with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 1-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
