Boonville- Robert D. Marmon, Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn, NYC, on September 29, 1959, and grew up in North Bablyon, LI, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1977. While in high school he became an accomplished trumpet player, playing in the North Babylon High School Band. He furtherd his education by earning his Bachelor Degree as an Art Major, graduating in 1981, from Dowling College, Oakdale, Long Island. Soon after he graduated from college, he moved to Port Leyden, NY., where he felt very much at home. For several years Mr. Marmon was employed in the finishing department at Ethan Allen Furniture Factory, Boonville, before a disabliity made it impossible to continue working. Before moving to Boonville, he had made his home with his maternal grandmother, Mary Marmon in Port Leyden. Bob loved the North Counrty, where he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and just sitting by the Moose River drawing and painting. He also enjoyed bowling. Mr. Marmon was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Boonville Rod & Gun Club. He is survived by one son and daughter in law, David and Amanda Marmon, Cold Brook; two grandchildren, Alexis and Mason, three sisters, Carolynne O'Neal, TN, Loraine Woodcock, MI, and Anne Marie Maloney, New York City. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert is also survived by his faithful canine companion, "Sammy" who he loved dearly. His Funeral will be on Friday at 5 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where visitation hours will be from 2-5 p.m. on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central New York Chapter of AFSP, P.O. Box 283, Pheonix, NY 13135, or to the Dodge Pratt Northam Foundation for the Youth Summer Art Program.
