Town of Western - Robert A. Suleski, 81, a lifelong resident of Mullen Hill Road, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born on the Suleski homestead farm on March 18, 1929, a son of Teofil and Romana (Glaser) Suleski. Robert graduated from Holland Patent High School with the Class of 1947, and from then until 1963 he was employed in the operation of the Suleski family dairy farm. Robert began his employment as a commercial construction carpenter with Carpenters Local #747, Syracuse, in 1963, eventually retiring in 1993. During that time he worked on many building projects throughout central New York. On May 18, 1968, Robert was united in marriage with Cecilia M. Ruff at St. Mary's Church, West Leyden. Mrs. Suleski, died on May 12, 1999. Mr. Suleski was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Lee Center. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by two daughters, Janet Suleski and her husband, Jason Kerr of Providence, RI and Holly Suleski, who had resided with and cared for Robert; a son, Mark Suleski, at home; two sisters, Evelyn Mizgala of Rome, and Harriet Boc of Clinton; a brother, Theodore of Rome; two special nephews whom he helped raise, Howard Smith, and his wife, Brenda of Rome, and Ray Boc and his wife, Barbara of Sperryville, VA; several other nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Noodle. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Edward. His Funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Lee Center, where Rev. James Tormey, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in the spring will be in St. Peter's and Paul's Cemetery, Fish Creek.
